Tashika McBride
Tashika McBride, is a lecturer, educator, restorative justice practitioner, somatic therapist, and human rights educator. She serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Middle and High School Education at Lehman College, CUNY, where she leads the Human Rights Education and Transformative Justice Advanced Certificate and coordinates the Media and Information Literacy Advanced Certificate.
Her work spans more than a decade across schools, universities, community organizations, and justice-impacted settings. She has facilitated restorative circles and transformative learning experiences with young people, educators, and communities in the United States and internationally, including work in prison settings in the U.S. and South Africa.
Her teaching and scholarship center human rights education, restorative and transformative justice, culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy, somatic and healing-centered practices, conflict transformation, and approaches to education that strengthen belonging, accountability, and community. Across her work, she is committed to creating learning spaces that are rigorous, relational, reflective, and grounded in human dignity.
