Julia Cavagna is an Argentinean born, Brooklyn based, actress, director and dramaturge.
She is a featured actress at The Metropolitan Opera, having had the honor of working in Patrice Chéreau’s Elektra and Simon McBurney's Die Zauberflöte. With Die Zauberfltöe she had the opportunity to tour to Netherlands and, with both productions, to Spain.
She is a proud member of BKBX Theater Company since 2021, performing and teaching with the company in regular basis and, recently, on tour with the show DOUBLE TAKE at the Fringe Festival in Adelaide, South Australia 2026.
She has been part of Dutch Kills Theater Company since 2018. Productions: SOLITARY (Fringe Festival Edinburgh 2019). TEMPING (NYC, Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringe Festival 2020-2024). And PEREGRINATIONS (The Tank NY 2025, Fringe Festival 2026).
As a director, she released: Obligation.You.Are. ; Sentimiento González is da Bomb! (Synetic Motion Pictures and Streaming 2021); MALALA (NYC Indie Theatre Film Festival 2021) and Prácticas Materiales (Undiscovered Countries; JACK Artist Residency at Governors Island; City Artist Corps Grants; Loose Leaf Development Series 2021-2025)
Internationally appearances include: Argentina, Puerto Rico, Brasil, Thailand, Japan, Scotland, Australia, Netherlands and Spain.
